Show Day & Grand Marshal Kate Shindle
It's the day after Christmas. You're off work, out-of-town relatives are still here, and the whole family is getting cabin fever sitting around the house eating leftovers. So you pile in the car and head out looking for something to do. It's an annual ritual for millions of Americans, who end up circling malls and movie theaters in search of entertainment.
Now, that search is over. December 26 is Show Day, and it’s all about spending time with family, friends and loved ones at live entertainment.
Venues, promoters, and performers from across the country are banding together to declare the day after Christmas the day to go to a live show.
Take in a Broadway musical. See a dazzling ballet like The Nutcracker. Go to a concert (symphony, rock, jazz… the options are endless). Or have some laughs at the comedy club. Whatever your taste, there are live events for you. And by sharing the experience with loved ones, you're creating lasting memories.
I think it’s great to have a dedicated day to get the family or a group of friends together and go out and see something you’ve never seen before.
